For many years, Polish drivers were issued driving licenses with an indefinite validity period
validity period. Times have changed and since January 19, 2013 it is no longer issued in Poland
indefinite driving license. So how long can we
enjoy your newly received document? What does this period depend on?

No longer than 15 years

How many years is a driving license valid? Well, Poles said goodbye to indefinite driving licenses
finally. Of course, not completely, because documents issued before 2013 are still there
important. Those issued currently can be valid for a maximum of 15 years. Period
this may stop if the driver has medical contraindications.
It may be, for example, a chronic disease or a major visual defect. Such rules apply when
this is the most popular driving license; How important are other categories of driving licenses?
The 15-year rule does not apply only to category B. Owners are treated in the same way
categories AM, A1, A2, A, B1, B+E, and T. To be sure, it is worth looking at our document to be aware of how important a driving license is,
that we carry in our wallet. Maybe
because it turns out that its usefulness will soon expire, and then we must prepare
to obtain a new document. We’ll talk about how to do this in a moment.

What about perpetual driving licenses?

As we mentioned, perpetual driving licenses are still in use and valid. Unfortunately
anyone who has such a document will eventually have to replace it. Everything depends
will be from the date of issue of the document. The exact dates of exchange of documents with
individual years will probably be published in 2026. However, today
it is known that the obligation to obtain a new driving license will not come into force earlier than
in 2028. The latest possible date is 2033.

What to do if your driving license expires?

How long is a category B driving license valid? We already know that. What to do when we have a document that
Has it already expired? In short, you need to apply for a new driving license.
The necessary form can be downloaded online, but it can also be found at the office. Goes

When visiting the office, we must have a copy of our current driving license with us
ID document. We attach the necessary attachments to the application: a color photo and consent
for the processing of personal data (if agreed) and proof of payment
fee for issuing a driving license (PLN 100) and registration fee (50 groszy).
The document should be prepared within 14 days. We will get information about this

Who is a category B driving license for?

The short answer is: for anyone over 18 years of age. Category B entitles you to
driving vehicles whose weight does not exceed 3.5 tons. It entered into force in 2021
a regulation that allows you to drive vehicles with a GVW of up to 4.25 tons. This limit applies
cars with alternative drives.
